UAB Baseball is set to host the Blazer Open, a pickleball tournament as a fundraiser for the program. The tournament will be held at UAB's Bartow Arena from July 12-13.
"We are excited to host the 1st ever pickleball tournament this July in Bartow Arena," said Head Coach Casey Dunn. "We expect this to be a very competitive event across different skill levels. Prizes will be awarded for each champion. All proceeds of this event will go directly to our Baseball student athletes. I encourage you to sign up today to support Blazer Baseball and have a fun weekend on the courts!"
The men's and women's doubles tournaments will be held on July 12, while the mixed doubles tournament will be held on July 13.
The cost for admission into the tournament is $50 per player. For sponsorship information, contact Casey Dunn at cbdunn@uab.edu. To register for the event, visit pickleballtournaments.com/tournaments/blazer-open. The registration process is underway and will end on June 27 at 8 pm. Those who sign up on or after June 7 will see the price of registration increase to $65.
