MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. — Two dedicated indoor pickleball facilities are coming to Montgomery County this summer.
Dill Dinkers is opening its first two facilities in Hatboro and Lansdale this August, according to a news release from All Points Public Relations.
The pickleball facilities will be located at 330 S Warminster Rd. in Hatboro and 1180 Church Rd. in Lansdale, according to the news release.
Dill Dinkers in Hatboro will have 19 dedicated indoor courts and Lansdale will have 11 dedicated indoor courts with fences, an event space, a ball machine, a pro shop, and a state-of-the-art reservation system powered by CourtReserve for members and visitors, according to the news release.
According to the news release, the forthcoming locations will also offer clinics, private and semi-private lessons, open play, round robins, leagues, and rentals for private events for players. The club will also provide business advertising and the opportunity to host employee and client events for local businesses, the news release from All Points Public Relations says.
Andrew Wakefield, a veteran who has a background as a real estate developer and is the founder of a logistics company in Baltimore, is helping with the development of Dill Dinkers in Montgomery County.
According to the news release, Wakefield, who is a former tennis player turned pickleball player, chose Montgomery County for its vibrant and growing pickleball community.
He formed Dill Dinkers in Pennsylvania to develop 14 facilities across Chester and Montgomery counties. Hatboro and Lansdale will be Wakefield’s first two locations in the state, according to the news release.
“Pickleball is truly an all-encompassing sport and being a player myself, I am confident Hatboro and Lansdale will appreciate Dill Dinkers as much as I do,” said Wakefield. “We’re eager to open in early August and offer all players access to court time year-round. I am looking forward to building meaningful relationships through my Dill Dinkers business by meeting, supporting, and employing people who are just as passionate about the sport and the community it cultivates.”
To celebrate the Lansdale opening, the location will be hosting its inaugural tournament, Pickleball Showdown at Dill Dinkers Lansdale, taking place from August 23-25, according to the news release. The start times of the tournament will be announced once registration has closed on Aug. 16 at 11:55 p.m.
In partnership with Brandon Fritze, the Philadelphia-based professional-level pickleball player, the tournament will host singles, doubles, and mixed games offering participants the chance to win prize money and merchandise.
