A pickleball tournament in Brookfield this September will raise money for a cause close to the organizers' hearts.
Hamdan is organizing the event with friends Mohamed Lubbad and Randy Soudah. Hamdan and his brother Murad Hamdan will sponsor the event with their restaurants.
The organizers chose to donate to PCRF due to the organization's long-standing commitment to improving the lives of Palestinian children, they said in a statement. They chose pickleball since it's an accessible, popular sport that can bring people together.
"By centering the event around pickleball, we’re creating a joyful and inclusive atmosphere where people can connect over a shared love of the sport while supporting a meaningful cause," the organizers said.
PCRF has provided free medical care to children in the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria for more than 30 years. Its latest efforts have been focused on evacuating children from Gaza to countries abroad including the United States, for critical medical help they wouldn't get otherwise.
