The New Year is looking good for West County picklers. The Staenberg Group (TSG) recently announced Paddle Up Pickleball Club, currently based in Lake Saint Louis, will open a second location at The District in Chesterfield.
The new, state-of-the-art, 23,000-square-foot recreational facility will be located on the east side of The District, according to a press release. The club will feature indoor courts, equipment rentals, professional coaching and organized leagues and tournaments.
"We are thrilled to introduce the indoor pickleball club to The District," said Michael Staenberg, TSG president. "This addition aligns perfectly with our mission to create a vibrant space where the community can gather, eat, play and stay active.”
Paddle Up is one of several expected pickleball developments in West County expected this year. Fenton-based Missouri Pickleball Club is expected to open a second, location in Ellisville, in the old Shop n Save on Manchester Road, in March. Updates on social media in December showed the former supermarket’s interior stripped clean in preparation for construction.
Additionally, a new multi-sport complex in Chesterfield was recently approved, which will feature pickleball courts in addition to other athletic facilities. Paddle Up will join other amenities in the District, including The Hub STL – a 40,000-square-foot outdoor, park-like space for yard games and live music – as well as The Factory, Main Event and Topgolf.
