The sporting event, dubbed "Blazing Paddles: A Firefighter Pickleball Tournament," will bring together local fire crews and community members for some family-fun competition.
The event is free for spectators to cheer on Macon-Bibb firefighter teams and attendees can expect a variety of activities, including:
-Firetruck and Mustang on display for kids and families to explore up close
-Junior firefighters in training station
-A chance to try on real firefighter gear
-Free introductory pickleball class
Macon-Bibb County Fire Chief Shane Edwards expressed his excitement for the event in a release.
“A special thank you to the Rhythm & Rally team for hosting the Blazing Paddles Tournament. Our firefighters are excited to participate in the first annual Blazing Paddles Tournament, but most of all, they are truly excited to take part in an event that gives back to the community,” said Fire Chief Edwards. “Don’t forget to bring non-perishable items to help provide meals for families during the holiday season.”
