The sport court project at Bushmaster Park that includes 8-dedicated pickleball courts, 2-tennis courts and 2-baskebtall courts plus hardscapes and landscaping, is scheduled to go out to a competitive bid in February, head to City Council for approval in late March, which leads us to beginning construction in April 2025. Those exact dates are not known currently as all triggers off the initial bid date. The project may near the $1.9M range of costs bringing a very beautiful set of sport courts to the community park.
The construction season is April to October, as this unseasonal winter is not normal. The current tennis and basketball courts that are dual striped for pickleball will not be available at all during the entire duration of the construction project. There will not be any temporary courts provided during this construction project. (*Note from FPA – we are looking into alternative court options while construction is underway)
There will be the free public 2-dedicated pickleball courts at Ponderosa Park, and then, of course, the private courts for a fee in Flagstaff at Continental Country Club, Forest Highlands, and NAU.
