The Double H Ranch hosted its first-ever pickleball tournament Saturday at Picklers Pickleball Club in Menands.
The event aims to support the ranch's mission of enriching the lives of children with chronic and serious illnesses and their families.
Dr. Suzie Berry from Albany Medical Center said, "Absolutely, we definitely interact with the families. I've spoken to many families who are a little nervous about their kids coming to camp. And what we really hear after camp is just the transformation that these kids have. The confidence that they have, the empowerment that they have to be participants in their own medical care. And the way they carry themselves throughout the day. A little bit more confident and a little bit more connection to the world."
Proceeds from the tournament will directly fund year-round programs, ensuring that children and their families experience joy, support, and adventure free of charge.
