The City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the new pickleball courts at Anheuser-Busch Sports Park. These four outdoor, lighted courts expand free, accessible recreation opportunities on the northwest side and are part of the city’s ongoing efforts to grow sports facilities across Columbus.
"We’re committed to investing in neighborhoods and creating vibrant, connected communities," said Mayor Andrew J. Ginther. "These new pickleball courts at Busch Park are part of that investment—providing free, accessible spaces where residents can come together, stay active and enjoy their city."
Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the country, and the City of Columbus is stepping up to meet the demand. The Anheuser-Busch Sports Park courts are the second in a citywide rollout of dedicated outdoor pickleball courts, increasing equitable access to this popular sport. The courts feature push-to-play lighting until 11 p.m., two shaded pavilions, resurfaced parking and ADA-accessible design.
"Recreation is essential to building strong, healthy communities," said Bernita A. Reese, M.S., CPRP, director of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. "Pickleball is a growing sport for people of all ages, and we’re proud to create more opportunities for residents to play, connect and thrive."
