Brookfield opens first dedicated pickleball courts near Town Hall: 'High demand'

After much demand, pickleball fans in town finally have a place to call their own. Opening day was Friday, March 25, for Brookfield's four new pickleball courts, which are located by Town Hall at 100 Pocono Road near the lower sports field.

They are the only courts specifically designated for pickleball in town, said Laura Murphy, director of the Brookfield Department of Parks & Recreation.

Brookfield resident Meow Lisawat and her son Patrick, 12, said they have been going to the new courts every day since they opened. "We really like playing," Lisawat said. "Sometimes, we like to play at the high school, too."

There are multiuse courts designated for both tennis and pickleball at Cadigan Park at 465 Candlewood Lake Road and outside of Brookfield High School at 45 Long Meadow Hill Road.
