A Boston-based pickleball business will expand into Connecticut with a new facility on Day Hill Road scheduled to open this fall.
Boston Pickle Club announced Tuesday that it would open its new pickleball facility at 20 Day Hill Road in October, billing it as a two-floor, 37,000-square-foot club with 12 courts, a pro shop, a bar and outdoor patio, dedicated event space, a mezzanine overlooking the courts, and locker rooms with showers.
Michael Wilmot, a representative for the company, said Thursday that construction began about 18 months ago and is nearing completion, with crews expected to put the "finishing touches" on the facility over the next six weeks ahead of its opening. He said Boston Pickle Club partnered with the developer and property owner on the project and will lease the facility.
